Bart Tulbert Selected as Award of Excellence Recipient
CCS Fine Arts Coordinator, Bart Tulbert, has been selected to receive the 2019 South Central District Bandmasters Association Award of Excellence! Bart was nominated and selected by his peers to receive this honor.
Chris White, director of bands at Hickory Ridge High School, had many kind words explaining why he chose to nominate Bart. “Bart had an amazing 17 years as the director of bands at Mt. Pleasant High School. His marching bands annually earned top honors at marching events throughout our region, and were Class A Champions at multiple Bands of America Regionals. His concert ensembles consistently earned Superior ratings at Concert MPA events in Grade V and VI literature, and his Winter Guard were consistent medalists in CWEA events. He consistently placed multiple students in the Cabarrus All-County Band, the SCDBA All-District Band, and the NCBA All-State Honor Bands. His students have marched with nationally recognized drum corps and winter ensembles. He served as a mentor teacher to several student teachers. In addition, he organized and ran one of the largest and most successful marching band competitions in our area. Perhaps just as important as his achievements is the professionalism he displayed while in the classroom, and now as a district administrator. He is a man of honor who would go the extra mile to help any student or colleague.”
Bart will be recognized at the North Carolina Bandmasters Association (NCBA) as a part of the In-Service Professional Development Conference in November. He will also be recognized next January as a part of the All-District Band weekend. Congratulations, Bart!
