Superintendent's Message - November 23, 2022

Greetings,Picture of Dr. Kopicki

From my family to yours, Happy Thanksgiving!   I wanted to take this opportunity to wish everyone a safe and enjoyable holiday spent with friends and those you hold dear. Our district is overflowing with talented students, teachers and staff. I’m thankful and proud to be a part of Cabarrus County Schools.

Our schools continue to impress me each and every day. From hosting engaging family events, to providing meaningful experiences for every student, our schools are doing whatever it takes to make sure our next generation is engaged in impactful educational opportunities.

As we prepare to move into December, please remember that Program Choice application season is ongoing. Applications for options for the 2023-2024 school year will be accepted until Dec. 16th. You can learn more about CCS Program Choice by selecting the Program Choice icon located in the Find it Fast section of our district website or by visiting https://www.cabarrus.k12.nc.us/programchoice.

Our district’s 12th annual Holiday eCard Contest is underway. Students in grades K-12 once again have the opportunity to design a holiday greeting card that will be used in official CCS holiday communications. All design entries must interpret the theme: Joy to the World and must be received by 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 9th. Find official rules and entry information at this link.

Also, please visit our Inclement Weather webpage to familiarize yourself with our district’s communications processes and procedures in the event that hazardous weather conditions warrant delays or cancellations. Take this time to make sure your contact information is updated with your school’s data manager to ensure delivery of our Blackboard Connect messages.

I hope you enjoy the Thanksgiving Break and have an opportunity to share the good things going on in your school with friends and family.

Stay Well,

John
