The Cabarrus County Board of Education is seeking candidates to fill a vacancy on the Board created by the resignation of Laura Lindsey due to her recent election to a seat on the Cabarrus County Commissioners. 

Lindsey completed six years of service to the Cabarrus School Board over two terms. Her current term expires in November, 2026. 

To be considered to fill the vacancy, prospective candidates who meet all qualifications to hold public office in Cabarrus County should submit a cover letter and resume by 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 19, 2024.   

All application materials must be emailed to boardclerk@cabarrus.k12.nc.us,  or delivered in person or mailed via U.S. Mail to CCS Education Center, 4401 Old Airport Road, Concord, NC  28025. All application materials must arrive at the CCS Education Center by 4 p.m. on December 19, 2024. 

Finalists for the vacancy will be notified via email on Monday, January 7, 2025 and invited to speak for three minutes at the Tuesday, January 14, 2025 Board Work Session.  A vote will occur to fill the vacancy following public comment on January 14, 2025.
