Student Hardship Transfer Request Window for 2025-26

Hardship transfer applications for the current school year are no longer available. Applications will not be accepted after request window closes.

 

Students attending Cabarrus County Schools are assigned to the elementary, middle, or high school serving the attendance area associated with the family's domicile. Information as to the specific school assignment is available by accessing FIND MY SCHOOL.

Please click below and review the following Cabarrus County Schools Board Policies BEFORE submitting your student transfer request: 

Policy 4150 - School Assignment (Students who live within Cabarrus County Schools district) 

Policy 4130 - Discretionary Admission (Students who do NOT live within Cabarrus County Schools district)

Policy 4135 - Tuition for Discretionary Admissions (Tuition is charged to families who do NOT live within Cabarrus County Schools district and must be paid or transfer will be revoked)

Policy 4115 - Behavior Standards for Transfer Students (If request is approved, conditions MUST be met or transfer will be revoked)

 

Please Note:

  • Forms from previous years will NOT be accepted.
  • Parents that already have a Scribbles account may sign in to their account to complete a request
  • This process cannot be used for a Program Choice request.
  • Employees wishing to request a transfer for their children must complete the electronic employee transfer application
  •  Athletic eligibility is governed locally by CCS Policy 4152. Policy 4152 states:  “The student attending a high school other than his/her Designated Athletic School  is ineligible for interscholastic athletic participation for one calendar year from the date of his/her enrollment at the new school.

 

***Please be aware that schools and certain grades may become ineligible for transfers as their enrollment exceeds capacity.

  • Cabarrus County Schools Employees Only. You will need to use your employee email address when creating your account for the first time.

    This transfer is granted to current full-time staff to enroll their child(ren) in the schools serving the attendance zone for their workplace unless otherwise specified.  The employee must be the student's parent or legal guardian. These transfers must be requested annually. If the student's home school is outside of Cabarrus County Schools District, then a release from the school district where the parent resides must be submitted before the application will be processed. Transportation is not provided.

  • Student Hardship

    Parents may request a Hardship Transfer in very rare cases involving extreme or unusual circumstances that directly affect the student. In such cases, parents or guardians may request reassignment to a school outside of their regular attendance area.  These requests are carefully reviewed and rarely granted. Consideration factors are based on space availability, the needs of the student, the effect on the school to which the transfer is requested, principal recommendations, and the allowable reasons for reassignment/transfer.  It is important to provide supporting information or evidence of extreme or unusual circumstances. If your hardship request is based on a student medical or psychological reason, you will need to submit completed Medical and Mental Health Psychological Hardship Information Form and a Release of Information for Hardship Request Form for School Transfer. Transportation is not provided.

  • Student Hardship Renewals

    All hardship transfers must be renewed annually. Requests for renewed hardship transfers will be forwarded to principals for consideration. Transfer students must have met the conditions for renewal outlined in Policy 4115 listed above. Transportation is not provided.
