Personnel Announcement

Superintendent Dr. John Kopicki has announced the following personnel appointments, which were approved by our Board of Education on Monday, February 10.
Lauren Petty, MTSS/Graduation Coach at Concord High School, has been named assistant principal at the school replacing Janice Witherspoon, who is retiring on March 1st. Lauren will begin her new role at Concord High on March 3rd.
Lauren began her career with Cabarrus County Schools (CCS) in 2018 as an exceptional children’s teacher at Concord High. Previously, she had served as a teacher and literacy facilitator at Hornet’s Nest Elementary in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools system.
Lauren holds a bachelor’s degree from Elon University and a master’s degree from Western Governors University. She earned her administrative license at Wingate University.
Molly Nealeigh, a consultant for Public Impact, LLC, has been named assistant principal at J.N. Fries STEM Middle School, replacing Micah Thompson, who has transferred to the same role at Concord Middle School. Molly began her role at J.N. Fries on February 17th.
Molly previously served as a teacher and multi-classroom leader within Char-Meck Schools.
Molly holds a bachelor’s degree from Bethel University, a master’s degree from the University of North Carolina Charlotte and is currently enrolled in the doctorate program at UNC Charlotte.
Michael Richards, Dean of Students at Bailey Middle School (Char-Meck Schools), has been named assistant principal at Northwest Cabarrus High School replacing Eddy Bui, who has transferred to the same role at Concord Middle School. Michael will begin his new role at Northwest Cabarrus on March 12th.
Prior to being named to his current role at Bailey Middle School in 2023, Michael served for ten years as a social studies teacher at the school.
Michael earned his bachelor’s degree from St. John’s University and a master’s degree from the University of North Carolina Charlotte.
