Personnel announcement

Superintendent Dr. John Kopicki has announced the following personnel appointments, which were approved by the Board of Education on Monday, June 2.
Dr. Adam Auerbach, principal at Concord High School, has been named principal at Concord Middle School, replacing interim principal Mike Drye, who has retired. Adam will begin his new role at Concord Middle School immediately.
Adam previously served Cabarrus County Schools as principal at Wolf Meadow Elementary School and assistant principal at both Cox Mill High School and Weddington Hills Elementary School.
Adam holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida, a master's degree from the University of North Carolina Charlotte, and his doctoral degree from Wingate University.
Jeremy Hachen, assistant principal at Concord High School, has been named principal at the school, replacing Dr. Adam Auerbach, who has transferred to another role within the district. Jeremy will begin his new role at Concord High School immediately.
Jeremy began his education career as a teacher at Central Cabarrus High School in 2013. He has served as assistant principal at Concord since 2020.
Jeremy holds a bachelor’s degree from Appalachian State University and his master’s degree from the University of North Carolina Charlotte.
Tracy Thiery, Title 1 and Federal Programs Director at Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, has been named Director of Pre-Kindergarten for Cabarrus County Schools, replacing Trina Wenzel, who has retired. Tracy will begin her new role on July 1, 2025.
Tracy previously served Cabarrus County Schools as both a teacher and Multi-Language Learning instructor. Prior to beginning her current role at Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, she served as that district’s assistant director of pre-k programs.
Tracy holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Toledo and her master’s degree from the University of North Carolina Charlotte. She also holds endorsements from Sierra Nevada College in Teaching English as a Second Language and the University of Nevada Las Vegas in Pre-K through 3rd Grade Reading.
Congratulations to Adam and Jeremy on their new roles within the district and welcome Tracy to Cabarrus County Schools.
