Superintendent Dr. John Kopicki has announced the following personnel appointments, which were approved by our Board of Education on Monday, December 4th.
Dr. Meghan Frazier, interim assistant principal at C.C. Griffin STEM Middle School, has been named assistant principal at Hickory Ridge Middle School replacing Nate Bargeloh, who was transferred to the same position at Hickory Ridge High School. Meghan will begin her role at Hickory Ridge Middle School on January 2nd.
Meghan began her educational career as an English teacher at Northwest Cabarrus High School in 2003. In 2015, she began her administrative career as an Assistant Principal of Instruction within the Cabarrus County Schools. In 2023, she served as the Director of Academics at Aspire Trade High School before returning to her current role within CCS at C.C. Griffin STEM Middle School.
Meghan holds a bachelor's degree from California State University Long Beach, and both her master's and doctoral degrees from the University of North Carolina Charlotte.
Lauren Breann Johnson, MTSS Coach at J.N. Fries Middle School, has been named assistant principal at the school replacing Germeka Ogundapo, who has resigned. Breann will begin her new role at J.N. Fries Middle School immediately.
Lauren began her teaching career in 2009 and has served as a math intervention teacher and elementary school teacher in Cabarrus County Schools, Lexington City Schools, and Guilford County Schools.
Breann holds a bachelor's degree from Appalachian State University and a master's degree from Gardner-Webb University.
Racine Kilpatrick, Academic Facilitator and MTSS Lead at McKee Road Elementary School (Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools) has been named assistant principal at Hickory Ridge Elementary School, replacing Karen Von Klahr, who has resigned. Racine will begin her new role at Hickory Ridge Elementary on January 2nd
Racine began her teaching career as an elementary school teacher in CMS in 2008. She has served as an instructional coach, reading teacher, and many other teacher leadership positions.
Racine holds a bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina Charlotte and master's degrees from both Capella University and Gardner-Webb University. She also holds a graduate certificate in special education from Queen's University.
