Hey Cox Mill! 

I'm Chelsea Wheeler and I am the School Social Worker at Cox Mill High School. School Social Work is my 'jam' and I am excited that I get to be at the Mill. 

2019-2020 was my first year with Cabarrus County Schools. Previously, I was a School Social Worker in Union County Public Schools, a School Based Therapist/Social Worker, and a Therapist in Adult/Adolescent Psychiatric Hospitals in West Virginia. I graduated from West Virginia University (LET'S GO MOUNTAINEERS!) with my Bachelor and Master degree in Social Work. I was born and raised in West Virginia and moved to NC the fall of 2018. I have been enjoying North Carolina with my Husband, and our two boxer labs, Milo and Marco.

I help students and their families with various needs: social and emotional, mental health issues, crisis intervention, referrals for community resources, homeless support (McKinney Vento), and attendance. I help support our teachers and staff in various ways!
