• H.E. Winkler Middle School is a neighborhood and magnet IB middle years school.
• Harris Road Middle School is a traditional neighborhood school.
• Hickory Ridge Middle School is a traditional neighborhood school.
• J.N Fries Magnet School is a neighborhood and magnet STEM school.
• Mt. Pleasant Middle School is a traditional neighborhood school.
• Northwest Cabarrus Middle School is a neighborhood STEM school.
• Opportunity Middle School is an althernative school.
• Royal Oaks School of the Arts is a K-5 neighborhood and Fine Arts magnet school and a 6-8 magnet A+ arts school. 
• Roberta Road Middle School, a traditional neighborhood middle school and and hosts the Mandarin and Spanish Language Immersion program.
