Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Program
Fresh Fruits & Vegetables Program
For the 2023-24 school year, the following schools are taking part in the USDA's Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP) grant:
AT Allen Elementary
Beverly Hills Elementary
Royal Oaks Elementary
Rocky River Elementary
Winecoff Elementary
WM Irvin Elementary
Wolf Meadow Elementary
The FFVP is a USDA-funded grant that provides a fresh fruit or vegetable snack to all students. Snacks are served at least three times per week through the end of May.
The program offers an opportunity for students to try new items outside of their comfort zone, helps lay the foundation for healthy eating habits, and fills in gaps in students' nutrition.
Statistically, students who have benefitted from this USDA grant go on to develop healthy eating habits beyond elementary school.
We serve a wide variety of fresh snacks as well as provide nutrition educational opportunities.
