Good afternoon, Cabarrus County Schools families,
Welcome to this week's edition of The Friday Five, five reminders on Friday afternoon to get your next week off to a great start. We hope your school year is off to an amazing start!

Get involved graphic.
#1 Friday Night Lights
Throughout the year, this section of The Friday Five will promote ways you can become involved in our schools. Tonight, our high schools kick off their 2024 football seasons with all the pageantry that goes along with fall Friday nights: the players, the coaches, the support staff, the band, the cheerleaders, the volunteers, the fans, the food, and the excitement of cheering on your hometown teams. We invite you to attend a game at your feeder high school or your alma mater (if you're a CCS graduate) and get involved in our CCS school community.

Tonight's schedule:
  • 7PM Sun Valley at Central Cabarrus
  • 7PM Charlotte Christian at Cox Mill
  • 7PM J.M. Robinson at Hickory Ridge
  • 7PM Mt. Pleasant at Jesse Carson
  • 7PM Concord at Piedmont
  • 7PM Northwest Cabarrus at West Cabarrus

Gameday reminders:

  1. Cash is not accepted at the gate. GoFan is the official online ticket provider of CCS schools. You may also purchase tickets at the gate by using a credit or debit card. You can avoid the lines by visiting GoFan.co or by downloading the GoFan app on your mobile device.
  2. Bags are not allowed inside CCS stadiums. With the safety of students and fans as our top priority, and in agreement with local law enforcement, spectator bags are not allowed inside Cabarrus County Schools' high school stadiums and gymnasiums for athletic events. Only two exceptions will be made: (1) medically necessary bags and (2) diaper bags when accompanying an infant/toddler. Both medical and diaper bags must be screened at the gate prior to entry. We appreciate your cooperation in making our athletic venues as safe as possible.
  3. Security wanding is required at all CCS varsity football games. Be prepared to be screened at the gate.
  4. Sportsmanship is a top priority for Cabarrus County Schools. Join us in celebrating the spirit of high school football by promoting sportsmanship on and off the field. Let's cheer for our teams with pride, respect our opponents, and create a positive, supportive environment.
